Job summary

IMC in Sydney is hiring a Software Engineer for the Application Platform. The role focuses on building and maintaining high‑performance, globally distributed Go applications and collaborating with global teams to deliver scalable platform capabilities.

You will engage with customers and internal stakeholders to understand needs, deploy features, and drive platform improvements through automated testing and frequent releases across a complex tech landscape.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of professional software engineering experience and proficiency in a programming language (Go, Python, or Java).
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to solve complex problems programmatically.
• Experience with automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and Linux environments.
• Exposure to distributed computing and modern cloud-native software design.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
• DevOps mindset and comfort across the full application lifecycle: development, testing, deployment, and operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, deploy, and maintain high-performance, globally distributed Go applications.
• Collaborate with teammates, stakeholders, and internal customers across local and global teams.
• Partner with customers to understand their needs and design platform capabilities that help them configure, deploy, and operate software more effectively.
• Support customers, unblock teams, and turn recurring issues into platform improvements.
• Own the end-to-end service lifecycle, from requirements gathering and implementation to deployment, operation, and continuous improvement.
• Help operate and support the team's systems during Sydney business hours.
• Use automated testing and frequent deployments to deliver high-quality features quickly and iteratively.
• Balance trade-offs between latency, throughput, simplicity, scalability, reliability, and maintainability in a complex technology landscape.
