Job summary

Stake Engine in Melbourne is seeking engineers for a backend-first role spanning Platform, DevOps and Data Engineering. You will build the backend platform and own production systems powering thousands of games, billions of bets, and global scale.

You’ll work with Go and Rust, own end-to-end delivery, and contribute to scalable cloud infrastructure. The role offers high ownership, AI-assisted development, and opportunities to shape architecture as we expand globally.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing and building scalable backend systems.
• Distributed architectures and microservices expertise.
• Ownership of systems end-to-end with strong operational focus.
• Exposure to cloud infrastructure or DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Build and scale backend services using Go and Rust.
• Own production systems from design through to deployment.
• Build and optimise scalable cloud infrastructure with Kubernetes and Terraform.
• Contribute to data platforms powered by ClickHouse.
• Help evolve our architecture as we scale globally.
