Job summary

Megaport is seeking a Go-focused Backend Engineer to design, build, and maintain Go-based backend services and internal tooling. You will contribute within the Platform Engineering team to automate workflows, enforce governance, and scale systems on Kubernetes/EKS.

The role emphasizes secure, scalable, and observable backend infrastructure with an emphasis on developer experience and efficiency across global teams.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Backend Engineer using Go.
• Experience building services on top of Kubernetes.
• Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Experience with AWS and GitHub in a CI/CD environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop internal tooling and Go-based APIs, microservices, and CLI tools.
• Engineered scalable automation and workflows between systems and SaaS platforms.
• Implement governance as code for repository and service oversight.
• Build self-service infrastructure interfaces for secure resource requests.
• Operate and optimize Go-based backends on Kubernetes/EKS and tune performance.
