Job summary

VGW is an interactive entertainment company seeking a Tax Accountant to join the Sydney-based Tax team. The role covers corporate taxation, international taxation, transfer pricing, remuneration and indirect tax compliance across jurisdictions.

Key duties include preparing company tax returns, tax provisions, BAS/IAS filings, and supporting remuneration tax activities. The ideal candidate holds a related degree and 3–5+ years in tax/compliance, with CA/CPA in progress.

Qualifications

• Tertiary education in Commerce, Business, Finance or Accounting.
• 3–5+ years experience in accounting or tax compliance.
• CA or CPA completed or nearing completion.
• Strong understanding of Australian income tax, FBT and GST.
• Strong tax accounting knowledge.
• Strong MS Office skills, especially Excel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Exposure to transfer pricing, indirect tax, GST and remuneration tax would be helpful.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent project management skills and ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of company tax returns and tax effect accounting calculations, in Australia and for overseas jurisdictions.
• Preparation of half yearly and yearly income tax provision calculations for consolidated financial reporting.
• Assist with preparation of monthly tax journals.
• Assist with preparation of various taxation filings including BAS, IAS, withholding tax and any other indirect taxes applicable (domestic and overseas).
• Assist with remuneration, employment tax and FBT matters including assisting with the preparation of the FBT return.
• Liaise with internal and external advisors on group tax compliance matters across jurisdictions.
• Assist with revenue authority and external queries.
• Assist with international tax matters including transfer pricing and Country-by-Country reporting, BEPS Pillar 2 calculations, etc.
• Support the tax team on ad hoc advisory projects and tax research.
