Job summary

OceanaGold, a global gold and copper producer, seeks a Manager – External Affairs and Social Performance to drive stakeholder engagement, social performance and responsible business practices across its operations. You will lead strategy, governance, due diligence and reporting, coordinating across government, communities and industry partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in public policy, communications, sustainability, human rights, business, law, or equivalent.
• 7+ years' experience in external affairs, stakeholder engagement, government relations, social performance, sustainability, or related field, ideally in mining or infrastructure.
• Experience developing and delivering stakeholder engagement, community, or external affairs strategies.
• Strong understanding of stakeholder management, social performance, reputation risk and regulatory environments.
• Proven ability to build relationships with government, communities, industry and stakeholders.
• Knowledge of human rights and social performance frameworks, including responsible mining practices.
• Excellent communication, influencing, analytical and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to external affairs strategies, engagement priorities and annual plans.
• Monitor political, regulatory and stakeholder developments and provide analysis.
• Develop stakeholder maps, engagement plans, executive briefings and submissions.
• Establish relationships with government, industry bodies, host communities and civil society.
• Strengthen social performance across community relations, grievance management and human rights.
• Coordinate Modern Slavery Statement and responsible supply chain governance.
• Develop local content initiatives delivering value for communities and business.
• Support reporting, digital systems, training and capability across teams.
• Manage projects, budgets, schedules and deliverables with safety and engagement in mind.
