Job summary

Rio Tinto is seeking a Manager for Software Asset Management within Global Technology Procurement. Based in Brisbane, you will lead the global SAM strategy, governance, and commercial optimisation of Rio Tinto's software portfolio, influencing senior stakeholders to improve licence compliance and value extraction from technology investments.

You will manage a distributed team, oversee SaaS, cloud, and perpetual licensing models, and drive operational excellence across the contract lifecycle,

Qualifications

Significant SAM leadership experience in a large, complex organisation.
Deep expertise in enterprise software licensing models (SaaS, cloud, subscription, perpetual).
Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive governance.
Strong financial acumen including budgeting and contractual negotiations.
Experience with audit readiness and compliance programs.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute global SAM strategy and roadmap.
Govern software licensing governance, entitlements, and optimisation post-contract.
Lead supplier strategy, demand management and major software negotiations.
Drive governance, data quality and operational discipline across the team.
