Job summary

Telemattica is an Australian industrial IoT company specialising in condition monitoring for rail infrastructure. The IoT Field Engineer will own new customer installations, coordinate field deployments and ensure equipment is configured and tested before shipment from Sydney.

You will travel internationally to install and commission systems on trains and trams, monitor deployed equipment, troubleshoot field issues and feed lessons back into product and deployment improvements.

Qualifications

• Practical hands-on experience assembling and testing equipment or technical systems.
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to completing practical work.
• Confidence taking ownership of a task and following it through to a complete outcome.
• Clear communication skills when working with customers, contractors and internal engineering staff.
• A willingness and ability to travel internationally frequently.
• An interest in working across both office-based preparation and hands-on field deployment.

Responsibilities

• Configure, assemble, test and prepare IoT equipment before shipment.
• Verify equipment configuration matches documented requirements.
• Plan and coordinate installations for new customers.
• Travel to sites to install, commission and validate equipment.
• Own installation quality and ensure work is thorough.
• Monitor deployed systems and resolve issues with customers.
• Troubleshoot field and remote device and system problems.
• Collaborate with engineering to diagnose root causes.
• Maintain records of configuration, installation, testing, issues.
• Feed installation learnings back into product and deployment.
