Job summary

Polyglot Group in Glebe, Sydney, is seeking a Payroll Officer to join our growing team. You will manage end-to-end payroll processing for clients across Australia, New Zealand, PNG, Fiji, and other regions, acting as a trusted partner and first point of contact for your client portfolio.

The role covers payroll processing (weekly, fortnightly, monthly), client management, and keeping up to date with payroll legislation.

Qualifications

• Previous payroll experience is a plus
• Strong knowledge of accounting or bookkeeping principles
• High attention to detail and analytical mindset
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Strong client service and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with DataCom is advantageous
• Fluent in English (additional languages are a plus)

Responsibilities

• Payroll Processing: Manage end-to-end payroll (weekly, fortnightly, monthly) for multiple clients
• Prepare, calculate and process wages, payslips, and reports
• Handle payroll reconciliations and employee payments
• Ensure compliance with local regulations (ATO, Super, Payroll Tax, IRD, etc.)
• Manage all lodgements and payments (superannuation, payroll tax, terminations, leave, etc.)
• Maintain accurate payroll and employee records
• Stay up to date with payroll legislation and regulatory changes
• Contribute to process improvements and payroll-related projects
• Client Management: Act as the main point of contact for clients and their employees
• Build and maintain strong client relationships
• Manage and respond to payroll-related queries in a timely manner
• Collaborate with internal teams to deliver high-quality service
• Continuous Learning: Keep up to date with payroll regulations and industry trends
• Develop a strong understanding of Polyglot’s services and global operations
