Job summary

Michael Hill Jeweller is seeking a Senior Payroll Officer to join its Brisbane Support Centre, delivering end-to-end payroll across Australia, New Zealand and Canada. You will own payroll processing, manage time and attendance data, and provide expert payroll guidance to HR and leaders.

You will ensure accurate payroll records, perform compliance checks and generate payroll reports for stakeholders, while contributing to continuous improvement in payroll and HR processes.

Qualifications

• 5 years’ payroll experience required.
• Knowledge of relevant payroll legislation.
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
• Collaborative approach and willingness to support the wider team.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritise deadlines.
• Experience with ADP Payforce or Dayforce would be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Taking ownership of end-to-end pay runs, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Reviewing and processing time and attendance and other payroll data.
• Maintaining accurate employee and payroll records.
• Completing payroll compliance checks and legislated payments.
• Providing payroll advice and support to team members, HR and leaders.
• Preparing accurate payroll reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
• Supporting peer checking and cross-training across the payroll team.
• Contributing to ongoing improvements across payroll and HR processes.
