Job summary

Amazon AWS AIS is seeking an Optical Network Development Engineer to design, deploy and automate our global DWDM network. You’ll contribute to scalable topologies, automation, and high reliability for AWS data centers worldwide.

You will collaborate across Networking teams, hardware and software domains, delivering innovative solutions in a fast-paced environment with a strong focus on efficiency and security.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell and/or Perl.
• 4+ years’ experience with rollout and operations of large DWDM networks and optical technologies.
• 3+ years’ experience with optical planning and modelling tools.

Responsibilities

• Build, operate and rollout global DWDM networks across AWS infrastructure.
• Drive scalability of DWDM designs to meet customer demand.
• Create processes to operate and build DWDM networks and collaborate with design teams.
• Review changes and drive improvements in network reliability and performance.
• Automate operational tasks and deliver innovative network solutions.
