Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Core Networking is seeking an Optical Network Development Engineer to join the Network Product Development team in Sydney. You will build, deploy and scale the networks that support AWS across multiple global data centers.

You will collaborate with vendors to evaluate new hardware and software features, automate optical test plans, and work with the network operations team to improve quality and RMA processes.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of network analysis fundamentals.
• 1+ years of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell and/or Perl.
• 1+ years of work experience on optical communication systems, networking planning and optimization.
• 1+ years of work experience on operating and maintaining optical (DWDM) networks.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with vendors/manufacturers to evaluate new hardware and software features. Create implementations plans for incorporating them into the network.
• Automate optical test plans and qualify optical modules.
• Collaborate with vendors/manufactures in defining and developing test plans for Optical Modules.
• Work with network operations team in identifying operation issues and improving quality and RMA process.
