Job summary

Amazon Support Services Pty Ltd in Australia is seeking a Network Development Manager to lead a team of network engineers, manage end-to-end operational health, capacity planning, automation, and change control. You will represent networking to customers and to the internal AWS teams, driving innovations while maintaining reliable service for mission-critical workloads.

Qualifications

• Experience with network operations either as a manager or individual contributor.
• Experience in a network engineering role and network management role, including managing and developing a team.
• Excellent understanding of networking technologies, network management tools and engineering practices.
• Strong communication skills and ability to mentor and lead teams.

Responsibilities

• Operate the network, manage, track and report against operations and network status; drive operational excellence.
• Recruiting and onboarding of new team members in collaboration with Amazon Recruiting.
• Mentor teams on technical and soft skills; manage 24x7 operational rotation.
• Ensure design, management, implementation and deployment operations are sound and scalable.
• Manage network issues and availability risks with swift, long-term solutions.
• Use data, metrics and dashboards to optimize operations and processes.
• Define credible proposals and drive implementation across planning processes.
• Develop, communicate and maintain project roadmaps.
• Collaborate with other engineering teams to share best practices and synergies.
• Set and deliver team goals, align resources and report progress to leadership.
• Represent networking to customers and internal teams to ensure dependencies are met.
• Ensure AWS best practices and security compliance are followed.
• Possess or attain Australian Government Security Vetting Agency clearance.
