Job summary

Orica in Melbourne is hiring a Lead - Global Logistics to steer end-to-end chartering for bulk, breakbulk and containerised cargo. You’ll work within the Global Supply Chain team to deliver commercially sound freight solutions aligned with S&OP plans, while ensuring safety and governance standards.

You will lead voyages, COAs and time charters, advise on freight market dynamics, and coordinate post-fixture activities with operations, sales and distribution teams to meet DIFOT targets and drive

Qualifications

• Proven experience in chartering (8+ years).
• Deep knowledge of charter party negotiation, freight markets, vessel operations, and post-fixture processes.
• Exposure to Class 1 and Class 5 cargo, liner shipping; working knowledge of SAP systems and Australian coastal trading requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end chartering activities (Voyage, COA, Time Charter) and develop commercially optimized freight solutions.
• Act as a key advisor on freight market dynamics and support global freight strategy.
• Align logistics solutions with customer delivery requirements (DIFOT) with Sales, Supply Chain, and Operations.
• Deliver timely, commercially sound freight quotations and drive cost efficiency.
• Plan and schedule vessels to meet demand and ensure compliant execution; resolve operational issues.
• Oversee post-fixture activities to ensure contractual compliance and performance.
• Build and maintain relationships with shipowners, brokers and freight forwarders; monitor supplier KPIs.
