Job summary

Freelancer.com is seeking a high-calibre Financial Controller to oversee global financial reporting, internal controls, and statutory compliance across multiple jurisdictions and currencies. This hands-on leader will guide a finance team, drive process improvements, and partner with the CFO to strengthen governance and efficiency.

The role requires IFRS/AASB expertise, 8+ years in finance, and experience with ASX-listed or high-growth tech environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CA/CPA mandatory.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in finance and reporting.
• IFRS/AASB expertise with complex consolidations.
• Experience in ASX-listed or high-growth tech environments.
• Fintech/ marketplace and multi-currency experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end, half-year, and year-end close with multi-currency consolidation.
• Ensure IFRS/AASB-compliant statutory financial statements.
• Own global audit process and coordinate with external auditors.
• Manage global tax compliance, including GST/VAT and R&D incentives.
• Drive automation of financial systems and workflows.
• Oversee cash flow, intercompany settlements, and FX risk.
