Job summary

Westernport Water seeks a Data & GIS Support Officer to manage data, GIS, and related systems across our service region in Victoria. The role supports AMIS integration, dashboards, data quality, and stakeholder reporting.

Experience with Power BI or Tableau and AutoCAD is highly regarded, with a focus on collaborative data improvements. The successful candidate will join a team dedicated to reliable data, safe operations, and continuous improvement, contributing to water and asset management

Qualifications

Relevant GIS qualification or demonstrated experience maintaining spatial datasets and producing accurate maps and outputs.
Experience supporting data management, reporting and information management within an operational environment.
Proficiency in data visualization and analysis tools such as Power BI or Tableau, with SQL and Excel; exposure to AutoCAD is desirable.
Strong collaboration skills with business users and stakeholders to improve data practices.

Responsibilities

Maintain and administer the corporate GIS, including spatial and asset information, and provide maps and spatial outputs to stakeholders.
Support data validation, cleansing, reconciliation and improvement activities and AMIS development.
Assist in data analysis, reporting, dashboards and information requests to support decision-making.
Develop GIS user training materials and reports to promote effective use of systems.
Support asset management through maintenance and renewal schedules.
Provide high-quality customer service and respond to GIS data queries for contractors and developers.
Collaborate with teams and vendors to deliver data improvements while maintaining safety and continuous improvement culture.
