Job summary

Melbourne Water Corporation is seeking a GIS Specialist to support flood mapping, data management and geospatial information assets across Greater Melbourne. The role focuses on delivering accurate flood information for risk management, planning and infrastructure projects.

You will work within the Flood and Drainage service programs, collaborating with GIS and modelling specialists to ensure datasets are accessible, governed and fit for purpose.

Qualifications

• Experience with GIS and data management in flood risk contexts.
• Ability to automate data processes and build robust datasets.
• Strong analytical skills and practical understanding of spatial data management.

Responsibilities

• Deliver flood modelling and flood mapping outputs for internal/external use.
• Provide governance and quality assurance for flood information assets.
• Support maintenance of flood information asset management policies and standards.
• Output and modify flood maps for various planning and infrastructure projects.
• Support reporting on asset performance, service capability and risk to flood information services.
• Collaborate with internal GIS and flood modelling teams to improve data provisioning.
