Job summary

Greater Shepparton City Council is seeking a Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) & Assets Officer to manage and enhance Council’s GIS systems and data assets. The role provides GIS support to departments, develops spatial datasets and dashboards, and maintains asset information for decision making.

Ideal candidates will hold spatial information qualifications, have experience with ArcGIS Enterprise, QGIS, and FME, and be proficient with asset management platforms such as Confirm or Maximo.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in spatial information or equivalent experience.
• Experience using ArcGIS Enterprise, QGIS and FME.
• Experience with asset management software such as Confirm or Maximo.
• Experience maintaining asset databases and spatial datasets.
• Strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Managing and improving Council’s GIS systems, capabilities and services
• Providing GIS and associated technology support services to Council departments
• Ensuring the accuracy and currency of Council’s GIS and Asset data
• Providing mapping products, spatial datasets and data analyses to both internal and external stakeholders
• Developing and maintaining GIS infrastructure and web applications
• Adding new assets into Council’s asset management system
• Preparing data extracts, reports, and dashboards to support business needs
