Job summary

Uniting AgeWell is seeking a qualified Exercise Scientist to deliver evidence-based exercise programs for older adults. You will assess, plan and implement interventions with a multidisciplinary team on-site, with possible home-based support, aiming to maximise mobility, balance and independence.

You will join the Burwood hub in a permanent full-time role, working 9am–5pm across five days. ESSA accreditation, group leadership experience, and aged care exposure are essential, with opportunities

Qualifications

• ESSA accreditation as an Exercise Scientist.
• Experience in conducting physical assessments, developing care plans, and implementing evidence-based clinical interventions.
• Experience leading group exercise programs tailored to various ability levels and health conditions.
• Strength and conditioning sessions or balance groups such as Pilates, Yoga, and Tai Chi.
• Experience in the Aged Care or Community Sectors (desirable).
• Collaborate with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and healthcare professionals.
• Monitor client progress and adapt programs to optimize outcomes.
• Educate participants about healthy aging and injury prevention.
• Maintain detailed records and contribute to program evaluation.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage a caseload independently.
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
• High-level organizational skills and computer literacy.

Responsibilities
