Job summary

NSW Health in Shoalhaven Memorial Hospital is seeking Registered Nurses for the 4 South Acute Geriatric Unit to provide evidence-based nursing care for older patients with complex needs. You will perform assessments, develop care plans, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to optimise outcomes and wellbeing.

The roles offer exposure to geriatric care in a major regional hospital with opportunities for professional development and involvement in ongoing redevelopment projects.

Qualifications

Nursing care for older adults

Responsibilities

Delivering safe, high-quality nursing care to older adults with acute and complex health needs
Undertaking comprehensive patient assessments and developing person-centred care plans
Collaborating with medical, allied health, and nursing teams to optimise patient outcomes
Supporting patients with dementia, delirium, frailty, and mobility challenges
Providing education and support to patients, carers, and families
Promoting patient safety, quality improvement and evidence-based practice
Mentoring and supporting junior staff and students within the clinical environment
