Job summary

Genesis Minerals Limited is seeking a Superintendent Geotechnical - Operations to lead geotechnical performance across our underground and open pit operations. This hands-on leadership role focuses on ground control and practical, fit-for-purpose geotechnical guidance embedded in daily mining decisions.

You will own site geotechnical systems, influence mine design and planning, and drive continuous improvement in monitoring, data integrity and technical assurance while building a capable site

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Geotechnical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Engineering Geology or related discipline.
• Significant geotechnical experience across underground and open pit mining environments.
• Strong technical expertise in ground control, rock mechanics, slope stability, monitoring and geotechnical risk management.
• Demonstrated ability to integrate geotechnical advice into mine design, planning and operational execution.
• Proven leadership experience with coaching and developing people.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement to influence senior leaders.
• Practical, solutions-focused mindset and commitment to continuous improvement.
• Current C Class Manual Driver's Licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead geotechnical support across underground and open pit operations with emphasis on ground control and operational risk.
• Ensure geotechnical management plans, TARPs, monitoring programs and inspection regimes are effective and consistently applied.
• Interpret ground performance and monitoring data to identify emerging risks and guide responses.
• Provide technical oversight and assurance to strengthen risk controls and safe mining practices.
• Lead, coach and develop the site geotechnical team and build capability.
• Establish clear expectations and foster a collaborative, field-focused culture.
• Support succession planning and knowledge sharing for future leaders.
• Build strong relationships with operations, technical services and senior leadership to ensure advice is acted upon.
• Contribute to mine planning, budgets, forecasts and resource allocation for geotechnical services.
• Coordinate investigations and external technical assurance activities.
• Drive improvements in geotechnical systems, reporting, workflows and risk management.
• Translate findings into actionable recommendations for decision-making.
