Job summary
MMG is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to drive ground control strategies and provide expert analysis to support safe, efficient mining operations at Dugald River. Reporting to the Senior Geotechnical Engineer, the role offers FIFO (Brisbane or Townsville) or DIDO from Cloncurry or Mount Isa Districts, on an 8/6 roster, with on-site accommodation and relocation support.
You will perform ground control design, seismic monitoring, data interpretation and QA/QC, leveraging Deswik, Rocscience, RS3
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Civil/Geotechnical/Mining Eng or Geology preferred.
- Experience in underground hard rock mining preferred.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide geotechnical services to enhance safety and optimize production.
- Conduct underground inspections and design ground control designs.
- Develop monitoring systems for rock mass deformation and QA/QC.
- Manage long-term monitoring and rehabilitation programs.
- Analyse geotechnical data to inform operations and risks.
- Design input into backfill plans for mined voids.
