Job summary

Wagga Wagga City Council is seeking an experienced professional to lead the Geospatial team, delivering high-quality spatial services across Council. The role focuses on guiding geospatial systems, data and services to be reliable, accessible and aligned with organisational priorities to support informed decisions for the community.

You will lead the planning, delivery and ongoing management of Council’s geospatial activities, develop Spatial Information Plan, coordinate projects, advise

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications and/or post graduate qualifications relating to Geospatial Science, Information Technology or similar.
• Substantial work experience relevant to geospatial data management, systems administration and the use of key spatial software applications.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and develop a team, and contribute to strategic and operational planning.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Geospatial team to deliver high-quality services to staff and the community.
• Develop, implement and maintain Council’s Spatial Information Plan.
• Coordinate geospatial systems projects, policies, procedures and support services.
• Provide expert advice and guidance to stakeholders on geospatial matters.
• Manage relationships with vendors and suppliers associated with Council’s geospatial applications.
• Contribute to ICT planning and projects that enhance Council’s use of geospatial systems.
