Job summary

Anglo American is seeking an experienced Geoscience Coordinator to oversee geological and geotechnical activities, lead a multidisciplinary team, and manage fieldwork, data analysis and regulatory compliance. You will coordinate projects, budgets and timelines while driving innovation and best practices in geoscience delivery.

The role focuses on ensuring safe operations, effective data utilisation, and clear communication of findings to stakeholders across projects and sites in Australia.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Geology/Geotechnical Engineering or related field; Master’s desirable.
  • Experience in geological/fieldwork, data analysis, and project management.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Familiarity with geological/geotechnical regulations and compliance.
  • Flexibility to work in different geological environments.
  • Professional registration desirable.
  • Proficiency in MINEX and/or Vulcan or other geology software.
  • Experience with Deswik, CAD drafting and data tools.

Job description

We are currently seeking an experienced Geoscience Coordinator to oversee and manage geological and geotechnical activities, ensuring the effective utilisation of geoscience information and the success of our projects. You will play a critical role in coordinating fieldwork, data analysis, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.

You will lead a team of geologists, geotechnical engineers and technicians, managing geoscience fieldwork, data collection, and analysis for various projects. Develop project timelines, budgets, and resource management plans, collaborating closely with cross‑functional teams to achieve project objectives.

This role will involve the analysis of geoscience data, interpretation of findings, and the presentation of comprehensive reports. You will stay abreast of industry trends and technological advancements, ensuring that our geological activities remain at the forefront of the field.

  • Demonstrate and use skills in geological/geophysical/geotechnical interpretation and modelling via the proficient use of MINEX and/or Vulcan or other geology/geotechnical computer software packages.
  • Demonstrate and use skills in other necessary computer software packages (e.g. Vulcan, Deswik, CAD drafting, word processor, spreadsheet, statistical analysis, file manipulation, data logging).
