Job summary

Miwatj Health Aboriginal Corporation in Ramingining is seeking vocationally registered GPs to join a dedicated team delivering high-quality care in a remote community. Patients benefit from a flexible mix of full-time, part-time, FIFO and fixed-term placements with relocation support.

Qualifications

• Current registration with Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA).
• Fellow of RACGP, ACRRM or equivalent.
• Extensive experience in General Practice.
• Knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people from diverse backgrounds.
• Working with Children Clearance and criminal history check.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in daily clinical duties and health promotion activities.
• Accept referrals from other health team members.
• Review and follow up patients with ongoing conditions.
• Use Communicare to identify care needs, initiate recalls and care plans, and document consultations.
• Practice according to CARPA guidelines and Miwatj protocols for chronic disease management.

What’s the role?

What do you need to apply?

• Current registration with Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) and Fellow of the RACGP, ACRRM or equivalent.
• Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, values and beliefs.
• Demonstrated skills and ability to communicate sensitively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people from different cultural backgrounds.
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of issues effecting the health and well being of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in contemporary society.
• Extensive experience in General Practice.
• Current Working with Children Clearance notice and undergo a criminal history check.
