Job summary

Soldier On is seeking a civilian General Practitioner to join the ACTHealth Centre team in Campbell Base, Canberra. This role offers Monday–Friday daytime care in a large multidisciplinary health facility serving Defence personnel, with no Medicare billing and a focus on patient-centered care.

You will deliver primary care, perform fitness-for-duty assessments, and contribute to occupational health and preventive services, within a supportive, secure environment.

Qualifications

• Unrestricted AHPRA registration as a General Practitioner.
• FRACGP, FACRRM or Vocational Registration.
• Minimum two years’ GP experience in the last five years in a GP setting.

About ACT Health Centre

Home to the Department of Defence Headquarters, Airforce Headquarters and Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) which is a tri-service military academy. The Health Centre opened mid-2022 and is a large facility. It services approximately 7000 military personnel, including trainee officers from both ADFA and Royal Military College. There is a 24-bed low dependency ward whichoperates24/7. Services provided include primary medical, aviation & underwater medical, nursing, dental, mental health,pharmaceuticaland physiotherapy. Defence Force Recruitment for medical officers is in addition to health centre roles. Standard hours of operation aregenerally 0800-1600Monday to Friday (depending on role requirements and specific craft groupsrequiredfor weekend and on-call shifts).

This role is primarily Monday to Friday (day shift) within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.After-hours,weekendand on-call shifts may be required depending on role requirements and base location.

Whatyou’lldo

• Deliver high-quality primary care to Defence members
• Occupational Medicine environment, conducting fitness-for-duty assessments and pre/post-deployment care, in addition to injury management, chronic disease management and preventative health
• Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary clinical environment where patient wellness is paramount

What you bring

• Unrestricted AHPRA registration as a General Practitioner
• FRACGP, FACRRM or Vocational Registration
• Minimum two years’ GP experience in the last five years in a GP Setting (GPT counts)
• Current CPR certification (HLTAID009)
• Australian Citizenshiprequired(Baseline Security Clearance)
• Commitment to CPD and ethical, patient-centred care
