The role requires balancing customer service, stock availability and cost efficiency while building scalable systems.
Reporting to the owners, you will shape procurement, inventory strategy, freight and logistics, and partner with suppliers to optimise terms, costs and working capital.
An established Australian import and wholesale distribution business with annual revenue of approximately $40 million and an ambitious goal to reach $80 million by 2030.
This is an exciting opportunity to join an entrepreneurial, owner-managed business at a pivotal stage of its growth. The company has an established market presence, a strong product offering and a clear ambition to scale.
Achieving the next phase of growth will require a more sophisticated, scalable and commercially disciplined supply chain and operating model, particularly across international procurement, inventory management and national wholesale distribution.
The business is seeking someone who can bring the structure, systems and discipline of a larger organisation while retaining the agility, energy and personable approach needed to succeed in an owner-led environment.
Position
You will take responsibility for end-to-end supply chain and operational performance, spanning international procurement, overseas supplier management, demand planning, inventory, inbound freight, warehousing, third-party logistics and manufacturing coordination.
The central challenge is to ensure the business has the right stock, in the right locations, at the right time, while optimising freight costs, inventory investment, supplier terms and profitability.
With international sourcing lead times, national wholesale distribution requirements and the prospect of significantly larger customer opportunities, the successful candidate will need to balance customer service and product availability with cost efficiency, working capital and supply chain resilience.
This is a commercially significant leadership role, combining strategic influence with hands‑on execution. You will have the opportunity to shape how the business operates, strengthen its supply chain foundations and build the capabilities required to support its growth ambitions.
