Job summary

Moir Group - Finance Recruiting is recruiting a General Manager Operations and Supply Chain for an established Australian business. You will lead end-to-end supply chain and operations, spanning international procurement, supplier management, demand planning, inventory, freight, and manufacturing coordination.

Qualifications

• Experience across operations, purchasing, importing and wholesale distribution, ideally within an inventory-intensive business.
• Strong expertise in international logistics, demand forecasting, inventory management, stock accuracy, freight and working capital.
• Demonstrated capability in supplier negotiations, 3PL management and improving commercial terms.
• Strong commercial acumen, with an understanding of how operational decisions influence margin, cash flow and overall business performance.
• A data-driven approach, with a track record of improving systems, processes, visibility and operational efficiency.
• Experience in a larger corporate or multinational environment, ideally complemented by exposure to a family-owned or entrepreneurial business.

An established Australian business with annual revenue of approximately $40 million and an ambitious goal to reach $80 million by 2030.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an entrepreneurial, owner-managed business at a pivotal stage of its growth. The company has an established market presence, a strong product offering and a clear ambition to scale. Achieving that next phase of growth will require a more sophisticated, scalable and commercially disciplined supply chain and operating model.

The business is seeking someone who can bring the structure, systems and discipline of a larger organisation while retaining the agility, energy and personable approach needed to succeed in an owner-led environment.

Position

You will take responsibility for end-to-end supply chain and operational performance, spanning international procurement, supplier management, demand planning, inventory, freight, third-party logistics and manufacturing coordination.

The central challenge is to ensure the business has the right stock, in the right locations, at the right time, while optimising freight costs, inventory investment, supplier terms and profitability.

With international sourcing lead times, national distribution requirements and the prospect of significantly larger customer opportunities, the successful candidate will need to balance customer service and product availability with cost efficiency, working capital and supply chain resilience.

This is a commercially significant leadership role, combining strategic influence with hands‑on execution. You will have the opportunity to shape how the business operates, strengthen its supply chain foundations and build the capabilities required to support its growth ambitions.

Profile
