Job summary

Brisbane Basketball Incorporated (BBI) is seeking a General Manager to lead one of Queensland's longest-established basketball associations through its next phase of growth, development and organisational success. This role requires a dynamic leader with strategic vision, strong commercial acumen and exceptional people skills.

Reporting directly to the Management Committee, the GM will oversee strategic execution, financial sustainability, sponsorship development and stakeholder engagement,

Qualifications

• Significant senior management or executive leadership experience.
• Strong financial management skills and commercial acumen.
• Proven success in business development, sponsorships or revenue generation.
• Experience developing and implementing strategic and operational plans.
• Excellent leadership and people management capabilities.
• Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Solid understanding of governance, risk management and compliance.
• Proactive, solutions-focused with high integrity and ownership.

Responsibilities

• Drive implementation of the strategic plan and translate priorities into measurable outcomes.
• Oversee financial performance, budgeting, expenditure control and revenue growth.
• Identify and secure sponsorships, partnerships, grants and other revenue sources.
• Lead initiatives to increase participation and strengthen pathways for players, coaches and clubs.
• Build and lead a high-performing team with accountability and collaboration.
• Engage with government, Basketball Queensland/Australia, sponsors and community partners.
• Provide governance oversight and risk management in line with regulatory requirements.
