Job summary

Brisbane Boys’ College seeks a dynamic Director of Basketball to lead GPS and Club programs, oversee coaching staff, plan seasons and promote participation and performance across levels. You will manage recruitment, budgeting, compliance, and wellbeing, delivering high-quality experiences for Prep to Year 12 and building partnerships within the basketball community.

Qualifications

• Five years’ experience in basketball or sports leadership with a proven record of success.
• Proven basketball coaching and sports management experience working with school-aged athletes.
• Experience in high-performance, pathway or schoolboy basketball.
• Ability to lead, mentor and manage coaching staff and deliver high-quality programs.
• Strong basketball coaching techniques, athlete development and performance analysis knowledge.
• Ability to implement strategic plans that support participation and competitive outcomes.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills; able to manage priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop GPS and Club Basketball programs across levels.
• Mentor and develop coaching staff, promoting high-quality practices and professional development.
• Oversee program administration, recruitment, financial management, risk management and compliance.
• Coordinate seasonal planning, training programs, fixtures, team selections, camps and tours.
• Use performance analysis and technology to enhance player development.
• Build strong relationships with students, families, staff and the wider community.
