Job summary

Basketball Queensland LTD is seeking a Head of Government Relations and Infrastructure to lead the organisation's engagement with local, state and federal government, advancing basketball's priorities across Queensland.

Reporting to the CEO, the role shapes policy alignment, secures funding, and guides the Facilities Strategy and infrastructure advocacy. You'll work with the executive team to translate government support into tangible commitments and ensure delivery within approved plans.

Qualifications

• Senior government relations experience and ability to translate policy into action.
• Proven track record in stakeholder engagement with government bodies.
• Strategic leadership with ability to align priorities across programs, funding and infrastructure.
• Strong collaboration skills to develop credible proposals with delivery teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead BQ's relationships with local, state and federal government to advance priorities.
• Develop credible proposals and secure government funding and partnerships.
• Provide specialist advice to the CEO and contribute to Executive Leadership Team discussions.
• Coordinate with Commercial where government opportunities involve sponsorship or commercial benefits.
• Lead the BQ Facilities Strategy and statewide infrastructure advocacy.
• Work with program and event owners to translate government support into commitments.
