Profusion Group is representing a leading investment management firm to appoint a General Manager – Business Operations in Sydney. The role will work directly with the CEO and Board, overseeing business operations, compliance, project delivery and people leadership across a four-area remit.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in financial services, ideally within asset management, wealth management or investment consulting.
• Strong working understanding of the Australian financial services regulatory environment and AFSL obligations.
• Demonstrated experience in business operations, project management and people leadership.
• Hands-on, ownership-oriented approach with the ability to manage competing priorities and drive matters to completion.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and sound commercial judgement.
• Ability to operate across both high-level strategy and detailed operational issues.
• Experience working with senior executives, boards and external advisers.
• Proficiency with BI and analytics tools such as PowerBI and data visualization.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operational workflows across data, IT, marketing, legal and compliance.
• Coordinate regulatory compliance obligations as an AFSL holder and support governance reporting.
• Lead operational improvement projects and drive process enhancements across the business.
• Manage the HR function for ~12 staff, including goal setting, performance reviews and recruitment when required.
