Job description

General Manager/Business Development Manager

This business, based in the northern suburbs of Melbourne, with a successful 60 year history has established a presence in a specific market segment. With a product that is recognised as the leader in their field they are looking to further expand the company operations both locally and interstate and are looking to add a New Business/General Manager to their team.

The primary focus of this role is to drive new business opportunities, expand market presence and strengthen strategic relationships within the commercial-industrial construction space. This will include identifying and qualifying prospects , managing key clients, presenting to prospects and overseeing commercial negotiations. You will further develop and execute business plans, monitor performance against targets and collaborate with the operational and technical teams in the business to align solutions to client needs.

To suit this role it is expected you will come from a background of success in New Business/Business Development and/or Relationship Management in the Melbourne commercial-industrial construction industry. You will need to be a strategic, motived operator, ideally with experience dealing with building products or equipment. Remuneration will be approx $200k with a bonus scheme linked to performance.
