Job summary

Gramerci is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead a multi-site Registered Training Organisation focused on Australia’s clean energy transition. You will drive enrolment, revenue and curriculum expansion across Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, overseeing sales, compliance, student administration and training delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, management or education is highly desirable.
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is beneficial but not essential.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a General Manager or senior leadership role.
• Experience in the solar or vocational education sector is desirable.
• Strong leadership and accountability across multi-functional teams.

Our client is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) at the forefront of Australia’s clean energy transition, delivering accredited and non-accredited training to the solar and electrical industries. With operations spanning Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, and close ties to industry supply partners, they are building the skilled workforce powering the shift to renewable energy — and are now investing in a new systems platform and expanded course portfolio to support their next phase of growth.
We are seeking an experienced and commercially-minded General Manager to lead this dynamic training business, driving both outstanding student outcomes and strong operational performance.

The Opportunity

This is a rare chance to take end-to-end ownership of a multi-site training operation — from student enquiry and enrolment through to course completion and industry transition. Reporting to the CEO, you’ll lead a multi-disciplinary team across sales, compliance, student administration and training delivery, shaping a high-performing culture while driving enrolment growth, revenue and facility utilisation across three states. You’ll also play a key role in a major systems transformation, transitioning the business onto a new student management platform, and in expanding the course portfolio to capture new market opportunities in the renewable energy sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and unify the sales, compliance, student administration and training functions into one high-performing, accountable team
• Own the end-to-end student journey — enrolment, pre-training, delivery, assessment and completion — removing roadblocks so trainers can focus on quality outcomes
• Manage the national training schedule, trainer capacity and recruitment across Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne
• Drive enrolment, revenue and sales-conversion growth in partnership with the sales and marketing teams
• Identify and launch new accredited and non-accredited course offerings aligned with industry demand
• Maintain oversight of RTO compliance and quality assurance, including ASQA and ISO requirements
• Lead the business-side transition to a new student management system, including change management and staff adoption
• Own operating budgets and expenditure, ensuring commercial discipline without compromising compliance or student outcomes
• Prepare and present comprehensive monthly reporting to the Board covering performance, risk and strategic priorities

About You

• A bachelor’s degree in business, management, education or a related field is highly desirable; a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is beneficial but not essential given strong RTO leadership experience
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a General Manager, Head of Operations, RTO Manager or comparable senior leadership role
• Experience in the solar, electrical, vocational education and training sector, or a similar regulated service industry, is highly desirable
• Demonstrated success leading multi-functional teams and building a culture of ownership and accountability
• Strong understanding of RTO operations, compliance and quality systems
• Proven commercial acumen, with experience growing revenue and managing budgets
• Experience leading system implementation and organisational change (SMS/CRM/ERP transitions highly regarded)
• Strong analytical and Board-level reporting capability
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to stay calm and outcome-focused under pressure
