Job summary

Increase Construction on the Sunshine Coast is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our solar and electrical project delivery, drive growth and improve profitability.

You will mentor crews, optimise software like SimPRO and AroFlo, manage procurement and ensure safety and compliance.

This is a hands-on role reporting to the Director with autonomy and opportunity to shape the business.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of operational management in electrical/trades
• Strong knowledge of solar and battery systems
• Current Queensland Electrical Contractor Licence or A-Class Electrician
• Experience improving processes and scaling operations
• Proficient in inventory management and project financials

Job description

The path is created and the processes set. We need you to come in and drive the business forward - taking on an established and highly focussed Solar and Electrical Business.

You will be working on enhancing the strong relationships with Insurance Panel Builders, Commercial Agents and Large Residential to maintain and grow volume of work with safety and profitability in mind.

An easy handover - the current Ops Manager is still in place to guide the transition - including running through the setup of SimPro and how he has used it for maximising efficiency job to job.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who knows the trade, understands the numbers, and can run the systems and processes a busy electrical and solar business needs to grow.

You will report directly to the owners who are hands on in the business.

About the role

Reporting to the Director, you'll lead operations across project delivery, field teams, systems, safety and procurement.

Oversee end-to-end delivery of residential and commercial solar, battery and electrical projects

Lead and mentor in-house solar electricians, apprentices and installation crews, and manage external subcontractors

Drive the rollout and optimisation of trade management software (Simpro, AroFlo or similar) across the business

Ensure all works comply with Australian Standards, WHSEQ regulations and Clean Energy Council guidelines. You will likely have your SAA accreditation.

Oversee procurement, inventory and logistics so materials are job-ready on schedule

About you

3-5+ years' operational management experience in an electrical or trades business

Strong technical knowledge of solar and battery systems (highly regarded)

Current Queensland Electrical Contractor Licence or A-Class Electrician's Licence (strongly preferred)

Proven ability to build internal processes, scale operations and drive growth

High proficiency with operations software, inventory control and project financials

Healthy gross margins on projects with minimal cost blowouts

Zero major safety incidents, timely audits, consistently site-ready jobs

On-time delivery against project milestones with fewer delays
