Gilbert Labour Solutions (GLS) is seeking Industrial Cleaners / General Labourers to join our team at a major recycling facility in Smithfield, NSW. This is a hands-on, safety-conscious role with regular day shifts and opportunities for overtime.

You will perform high-pressure cleaning, general labour tasks, and assist with production, using hand tools and potentially forklifts if ticketed. On-site leadership and ongoing support are provided, with training and upskilling available.

Qualifications

• Experience in labouring, industrial cleaning, or construction.
• Strong understanding of workplace safety.
• Physically fit and capable of manual work.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• Good communication, literacy, and numeracy skills.
• Positive, reliable, and safety-first mindset.
• Forklift and/or skid steer licence advantageous but not required.
• Confined space entry and working at heights tickets advantageous but not required.

Responsibilities

• High-pressure cleaning of plant and equipment.
• General labour duties: shovelling, sweeping, manual handling.
• Production assistance and use of hand tools for cleaning and maintenance.
• Supporting shutdown and cleaning operations.
• Forklift/skid steer operations if ticketed.
• Cleaning and maintaining machinery and tools.
• Working in confined spaces and at heights if certified.
• Signing on to JSEAs and following safety protocols.
• Participate in on-call roster.

About the Role

We are currently seeking Industrial Cleaners / General Labourers to join our workforce at a high-performing industrial paper manufacturing site in Smithfield, Sydney, NSW.

There are multiple roles & opportunities including machine operators and expanded roles for the right candidates.

This is a physically demanding, hands-on role suited to individuals who are safety-conscious, reliable, and comfortable working in dirty industrial environments.
