Job summary

Total Construction is seeking a General Foreman to lead on-site teams on commercial projects in Sydney. You will oversee trades, safety, scheduling and quality, and coordinate with subcontractors to deliver projects on time and to spec.

The role requires a 5+ year track record in a similar role, strong leadership, and the ability to read drawings. A trade or tertiary qualification in Building, Construction or Engineering is preferred.

Qualifications

• Trade or tertiary qualification in Building, Construction or Engineering
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role
• Strong ability to read and interpret drawings
• Well-developed planning skills including industry knowledge
• Strong leadership and management skills
• Knowledge of construction trades and quality workmanship

Responsibilities

• Assist in overseeing and managing all trades on site
• Oversee the implementation of all site safety and ensure procedures are monitored
• Monitor progress of works against the construction program and coordinate trades
• Manage and coach staff, leading the team to achieve project and personal goals
• Oversee the quality of trade works to meet required standards
• Schedule and coordinate other site staff with priority issues
• Issue site instructions and correspondence to trade contractors and consultants
• Report to Site Manager on current or potential issues
