people2people in Sydney is seeking an experienced Accountant for a long-term role with stability in a well-established construction business. The role covers the full finance function, reporting to senior leadership, and day-to-day operations.

You will manage the general ledger, month-end and year-end processes, payroll for up to 50 employees using MYOB/Xero, GST/BAS, budgeting, and financial analysis. Flexible arrangements include full-time, four-day week, or school hours.

Qualifications

• Experience in a general accounting position.
• Proven payroll processing experience.
• Strong budgeting/forecasting and financial analysis skills.
• Proficient with MYOB and Xero accounting systems.
• Excellent Excel skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Manage the general ledger, reconciliations and financial record maintenance.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports including month-end and year-end processes.
• Coordinate accounts payable and accounts receivable activities with timely supplier payments and customer collections.
• Deliver weekly payroll processing for up to 50 employees.
• Assist with budgeting, cash flow monitoring and financial analysis."
• Drive improvements in financial controls and reporting processes.
