Job summary

NCS Australia is looking for a GCP Platform Engineer to design, build and operate Google Cloud platforms for enterprise clients. You will work on hybrid connectivity, networking, Terraform, CI/CD, security and observability.

You’ll collaborate with cloud architects, data engineers and security specialists to take a platform from design through production support, while communicating trade-offs and decisions clearly to clients and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with GCP networking including VPC, Shared VPC and load balancing.
• Practical experience with hybrid connectivity services (Cloud Interconnect, Cloud VPN, HA VPN).
• Ability to write and maintain Terraform and support CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of IAM, Secret Manager, Cloud KMS and Cloud Armor.
• Experience using Cloud Logging, Monitoring and dashboards.
• Ability to explain options and risks to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and support hybrid connectivity between on-premises data centres and Google Cloud.
• Build and operate VPC and Shared VPC environments with routing and firewall policies.
• Connect cloud infrastructure to on-premises systems using patterns like SFTP, Kafka and REST APIs.
• Develop and maintain Terraform configurations across environments.
• Build and support CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and platform changes.
• Produce high-level and low-level designs, integration specifications, runbooks and ops guides.
• Operate logging, metrics, alerting and dashboards; assist with incident response.
