Job summary

RMIT University Melbourne is seeking a strategic Manager, Gender-based Violence Prevention and Compliance to lead the institution’s implementation of the National Code to Prevent and Respond to GBV 2025. The role provides policy, compliance and change leadership across governance bodies, engaging senior stakeholders and sector partners to ensure ongoing regulatory adherence.

• Strong GBV prevention and regulatory expertise.
• Experience overseeing regulatory obligations and implementation.
• Ability to translate legislation into practical organisational action.
• Experience with government, higher education or large complex orgs.
• Stakeholder management and executive communications.

Responsibilities

• Manage compliance with the National Code and report on gaps and solutions.
• Coordinate implementation with timelines, budgets and quality standards.
• Maintain up-to-date expertise in gender equity legislation and compliance.
• Support planning and implementation of the 2026–29 Plan.
• Chair the National Code Working Group and track cross-functional actions.
• Develop and review policies to align with the National Code.
• Monitor compliance, evaluation and annual reporting processes.
• Collaborate with Prevention and Respect and Safer Community teams.
• Review third-party arrangements for compliance with the National Code.
• Represent RMIT in sector networks and external forums.
