Job summary

RMIT University seeks a strategic leader to drive the institutional implementation of the National Higher Education Code to Prevent and Respond to Gender-based Violence. The role requires managing a diverse project portfolio, liaising with senior governance committees, and ensuring compliance, evidence-based evaluation, and robust policy integration across systems and partnerships.

Qualifications

• Strong gender-based violence prevention and response expertise with knowledge of regulatory frameworks.
• Experience overseeing regulatory obligations, compliance and implementation in large, complex organisations.
• Ability to translate legislation into practical organisational action beyond pure policy work.
• Proven capability in project management, strategy, risk and change management.

Responsibilities

• Manage compliance with the National Code and report on gaps and solutions.
• Coordinate and implement National Code requirements within timelines and budgets.
• Maintain up-to-date expertise in gender equity legislation and compliance.
• Support planning and implementation of the Gender-based Violence Prevention and Response Plan 2026–29.
• Lead the National Code Working Group with governance and cross-functional delivery.
• Develop and review policies, procedures and guidelines for National Code alignment.
• Track and monitor compliance, evaluation and annual reporting processes.
• Collaborate with Prevention and Respect teams to deliver National Code actions.
• Review third-party arrangements for National Code compliance in liaison with legal teams.
• Represent RMIT in sector networks to share practice and contribute to policy development.
