Job summary

South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) is seeking an Enrolled Nurse to join Garrawarra Centre, Waterfall NSW, delivering high-quality nursing care to residents under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

The role requires current AHPRA registration and an approved medicines administration qualification, with strong communication and a person-centred approach, plus willingness to engage in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Current registration as Enrolled Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
• Nursing & Midwives Board approved qualification in medicines administration
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, carers, other care providers, hospital clinicians, immediate team members and other stakeholders
• Supports working in a person centred environment
• Current professional practice knowledge base
• Basic computer skills and proven ability to use health information systems
• Knowledge and understanding of risk management, safety and quality principles and the role of the Enrolled Nurse in applying these principles.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality nursing care to Residents/clients consistent with SESLHD policies and standards.
• Work under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse and assist in provision of nursing care.
• Retain responsibility for personal actions while being accountable to the Registered Nurse for delegated functions.

Where you'll be working

Garrawarra Centre is a 104 bed Dementia Specific Residential Aged Care Facility located in the tranquil setting of Garrawarra State Conservation Area, Waterfall. The Centre is one of the few purpose‑built, dementia specific facilities in New South Wales.

There is ample, free on‑site parking but you will need your own reliable transport as Garrawarra is not accessible by any public transport.

Clinical supervision at the point of care is the role and responsibility of each Registered Nurse/Midwife and Enrolled Nurse within everyday clinical practice, in line with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council Decision Making Frameworks for Nurses and Midwives.
