Job summary

Churches of Christ in Queensland is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Officer for our Little Mountain Aged Care site in Queensland. The successful candidate will maintain gardens and facilities, perform repairs, and support the team to keep the environment safe, functional and inviting for residents and the community.

Qualifications

• Background in maintenance, handyman work, or groundskeeping.
• Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
• Understanding of Work Health and Safety (WHS) or willing to certify within first month.
• Valid Australian driver’s licence.
• Alignment with our values: Integrity, Compassion, Excellence, and Courage.
• Experience in aged care or community services is a bonus, but not required.
• Must have Australian work rights; sponsorship not offered.

Responsibilities

• Look after gardens by trimming, pruning, mulching, and keeping plants healthy.
• Ensure paths, common areas, and outdoor spaces are safe, weed-free, and well-presented.
• Carry out general maintenance and repairs to keep the building in good shape.
• Follow the maintenance schedule and address issues before they escalate.
• Be a helpful pair of hands for day-to-day tasks as they arise.
