Job summary

Carinity is seeking a Grounds and Maintenance Officer for our Residential Aged Care site in Queensland. This hands-on role involves general building maintenance, gardening, and keeping outdoor areas safe, welcoming, and well-presented for residents, visitors and staff.

You will perform repairs, maintain tools, manage simple admin and invoices, and work with a friendly multidisciplinary team. WHS knowledge and the ability to operate ride-on mowers and power garden tools are essential.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in general gardening and maintenance.
• Knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety Standards relevant to grounds and maintenance work.
• Knowledge of gardening and groundskeeping.
• Ability to use power garden tools and a ride on mower.
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Perform general repairs, preventative maintenance, and organise contractors when needed.
• Care for lawns, gardens, paths, and outdoor areas to a high standard.
• Carry out routine tasks like rubbish removal, gutter cleaning, watering, pruning, and planting.
• Maintain tools and ensure safe handling of equipment and chemicals.
• Keep accurate maintenance records, support regulatory compliance, and uphold safety procedures.
• Assist with stock control and basic admin such as processing invoices and keeping registers updated.
• Work as part of a friendly, multidisciplinary team that values cooperation and respect.

About the opportunity:
