Job summary

Hobart City Council is seeking a Still Gardening Program Officer in Hobart, TAS. You will connect clients with volunteers to support gardening tasks, helping clients maintain independence and stay engaged in the community.

You will coordinate delivery of the program, foster relationships with volunteers and stakeholders, and ensure a high-quality service experience while promoting community involvement.

Qualifications

• Advanced Diploma or tertiary qualification in horticulture or substantial practical experience.
• Registration to Work with Vulnerable People is required.
• Current Driver Licence and strong administrative and computer skills.
• Experience coordinating and supporting volunteers and programs.
• Relationship-focused with excellent communication and sound judgement.

Responsibilities

• Assist in administering the Still Gardening Program and ensure compliance with procedures.
• Manage volunteer onboarding and ensure appropriate matching with clients.
• Build positive relationships with volunteers and clients and provide ongoing support.
• Promote the program and engage internal and external stakeholders for recruitment and referrals.
• Provide day-to-day supervision to volunteers to ensure a safe, engaging experience.
