Job summary

Fairview Village is seeking a reliable Gardener/Maintenance Officer to support both our aged care facility and Support at Home clients. The role is currently part-time, 4 days per week, with potential to move to full-time in the future.

You will blend gardening services with maintenance tasks to keep environments safe, welcoming, and well-maintained for older Australians. The ideal candidate works well independently across multiple sites, prioritises safety, and has experience in aged care,

Qualifications

• Experience in aged care, disability, or community services.
• Ability to work independently in community settings.
• Strong safety and risk awareness.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Genuine interest in supporting older people.

Responsibilities

• Gardening & Home-based: Provide gardening services to clients in their homes (mowing, pruning, weeding, yard tidy-ups).
• Gardening & Home-based: Support safe, accessible outdoor environments for older people.
• Gardening & Home-based: Work independently across multiple client locations.
• Gardening & Home-based: Report hazards or client concerns to the care team.
• Gardening & Home-based: Maintain accurate records of services delivered.
• Maintenance (Facility-Based): Perform general repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Maintenance (Facility-Based): Maintain buildings, equipment, and grounds to a high standard.
• Maintenance (Facility-Based): Identify and report maintenance issues and safety risks.
• Maintenance (Facility-Based): Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety standards.
