Job summary

Corryong Health is seeking a gardener to provide gardening and basic outdoor maintenance for community clients, helping them stay safe, independent and living at home.

The role focuses on practical outdoor care and supports older people in maintaining their living environment within the community setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in gardening, grounds maintenance or related field.
• Ability to safely operate gardening equipment including lawn mowers, whipper snippers and hedge trimmers.
• Demonstrated commitment to customer service and working with older people.
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively within timeframes.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Appropriate literacy and numeracy including computer literacy.
• Valid Victorian or NSW Driver’s License.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

ABOUT YOU:

You will have:

Essential:

• Experience in gardening, grounds maintenance or a related field.
• Ability to safely operate gardening equipment including lawn mowers, whipper snippers and hedge trimmers.
• Demonstrated commitment to customer service and working with older people.
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively within timeframes.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Appropriate literacy and numeracy including computer literacy.
• Valid Victorian or NSW Driver’s License.

Desirable:

• Demonstrated understanding of the needs of frail older people.
• Experience in performance of general handyperson work.
• Basic small motor or vehicle maintenance skills.
• Current First Aid Certificate.
• External accreditations, e.g chainsaw licence, chemical users' certification.
