Job summary

Fowles Wine seeks an experienced gardener to maintain the grounds across our regional Victoria sites. You’ll perform daily garden care, irrigation, pruning, and vegetable plots, in close collaboration with our horticulturalist. A current driver licence and ability to operate garden equipment are essential.

You’ll also assist with general property maintenance, manage garden contractors as needed, and support production/warehouse activities when required.

Qualifications

• Experience in garden maintenance and landscaping.
• Ability to operate and maintain garden equipment.
• Willingness to support production/warehouse operations as required.

Responsibilities

• Garden maintenance across sites including mowing, pruning, trimming, and weed control.
• Implement master planning with the Horticulturalist and manage irrigation work.
• Prune, plant selection/replacement, and vegetable garden care with horticulturalist support.
• Assist with spraying and fertiliser applications as directed by horticulturalist.
• Support production/warehouse operations and manage garden contractors as needed.

Job description

Fowles is a family-owned winery, cellar door and restaurant in regional Victoria.

Role

To maintain the grounds and gardens and attend to general building and property repairs on a daily basis across all sites.

Duties

Garden:

• implementation of master planning in consultation with our appointed Horticulturalist
• landscaping
• irrigation work
• plant selection/replacement (supported by horticulturalist)
• pruning/deadheading
• trimming/hedging
• vegetable garden (supported by horticulturalist)
• food/fertiliser (supported by horticulturalist)
• spraying (disease/bugs) (supported by horticulturalist)

Garden Maintenance including rubbish, weeding, spraying, mowing, road repairs, animal care.

Other duties from time to time including:

• Support production/warehouse operations as required
• Managing garden contractors as required

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

The following licences and competencies are preferred:-

• Current Driver Licence
• Competency certificates listed below or equivalent
• Operate and Maintain Chainsaws (AHCMOM213)
• Chemical Handling Certification (FDFSS00003)
