Job summary

SANFL is seeking two Game Development Coordinators to drive metropolitan participation across Adelaide. These full-time roles support clubs, schools and communities with Auskick, coaching clinics and school programs.

Based at Norwood and West Adelaide, you will recruit and coordinate volunteers, build partnerships and promote positive football experiences for children and families. A vehicle is provided for role flexibility.

Qualifications

• Experience in Australian rules football or similar community sport.
• Ability to plan, coordinate and deliver engaging participation programs.
• Strong relationship-building with clubs, schools and volunteers.
• Experience coordinating volunteers.
• Sound administration, planning and communication skills.
• Commitment to child safety, inclusion and respectful behaviours.
• Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends.
• Current SA driver license, First Aid certification and child-related screening are required.

About The Role

We are seeking two enthusiastic and community-minded Game Development Coordinators to join SANFL's metropolitan participation delivery team on a 2-year fixed-term contract.

One position will be based at Norwood Football Club and the other at West Adelaide Football Club. Working alongside a team of participation delivery specialists located across SANFL clubs, our Game Development Coordinators are the central drivers of quality participation experiences and support the growth and enjoyment of football throughout metropolitan Adelaide.

This is a hands‑on role for someone who enjoys being out in the community, building trusted relationships and delivering programs that connect children, families, schools, volunteers and clubs with our game.

What You Will Be Doing

• Deliver high quality and engaging football promotions in schools and community settings that connect participants with local programs and clubs.
• Lead the delivery of quality participation programs, including Auskick, Superkick, school football, holiday programs, coaching clinics and new ways to play.
• Build strong relationships with SANFL clubs, community football clubs, schools, volunteers and local football networks.
• Recruit, onboard, support, develop and recognise volunteers who are critical to delivering positive football experiences.
• Work collaboratively with SANFL and club-based peers to identify opportunities to increase participation, improve retention and strengthen transition into community football.
• Support AFL and SANFL player appearances and other promotional activities.
• Use participant feedback and program data to monitor quality and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Maintain accurate program, stakeholder and reporting information through SANFL systems to meet expectations.
• Promote safe, inclusive and child‑friendly environments across all programs and activities.

About You

You will be energetic, organised and confident engaging with a wide range of people. You will enjoy balancing program delivery with relationship building, planning and administration, and will bring a genuine commitment to creating positive experiences for participants and volunteers.

To Be Successful, You Will Bring

• Experience in Australian rules football (or other ball sports) and working with children in a school, community or sporting environment.
• The ability to plan, coordinate and deliver engaging participation programs and promotional activities.
• Strong relationship‑building skills and the confidence to work with clubs, schools, volunteers and community stakeholders.
• Experience supporting, developing or coordinating volunteers.
• Sound administration, planning and communication skills.
• Practical judgement and the ability to respond positively to challenges in a community sport environment.
• A commitment to child safety, inclusion and respectful behaviours.
• Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends when required.
• Confidence using Microsoft Office and digital administration systems.

Experience in coaching, teaching or working within a community football club environment will be highly regarded. Relevant tertiary qualifications, a current South Australian driver license, First Aid certification and required child‑related screening are also required for the role.

This role requires active engagement in the community at a variety of locations. It will be supported with the supply of a fully maintained tool of trade vehicle.
