Job summary

Australian Football League (AFL) is seeking a casual AFL Game Development role in Darwin to deliver Auskick programmes and grow participation across the Top End. You will engage children, deliver inclusive activities and support schools and clubs with quality experiences.

Qualifications

• Experience engaging primary and secondary school students in safe, inclusive activities.
• Ability to deliver fun, safe Auskick experiences in diverse settings.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills are essential.
• Willingness to obtain/hold a valid Ochre Card and First Aid Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and inclusive AFL Auskick programmes.
• Support clubs to deliver high-quality Auskick experiences.
• Lead AFL clinics for school students.
• Assist with school football competitions and gala days.
• Support event setup, umpiring, scoring and timekeeping.
• Ensure equipment is available and ready for use.
• Create safe, consistent and enjoyable environments for participants.
• Provide programme support to the Football Development Lead, Top End Communities.

The opportunity

For many children, AFL Auskick, junior football and school football programmes provide their first experience of our game.

As an AFL Game Development Casual, you will help grow participation by delivering fun, safe and inclusive football experiences across Darwin and the Top End.

You will be supported and trained to engage diverse groups of participants and deliver consistently positive programmes in schools, clubs and community settings.

This casual role offers flexible working hours, a supportive team environment and opportunities to contribute to other programmes and events across the AFL.

You will create welcoming football experiences that help children and young people develop their skills, build confidence and connect with Australian Football.

• An interest in Australian Football and growing participation in the game
• A collaborative approach and willingness to support schools, clubs, communities and fellow team members
• A valid Employee Ochre Card or the ability to obtain one
• A current First Aid Certificate
