Job summary

UnitingCare Queensland's FaDS team in Rockhampton is seeking a Gambling Help Counsellor & Educator to provide compassionate gambling counselling to individuals and families, and to educate the community on related issues.

The role is part-time (15.2 hours per week) located in Rockhampton, with a Diploma in Counselling or equivalent and experience in counselling, addiction treatment, and education programs preferred.

Qualifications

• Hold a minimum of a Diploma in Counselling or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience working in a counselling environment.
• Demonstrated experience and knowledge in working therapeutically with addiction, specifically gambling.
• Experience in developing and delivering education and awareness programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide empathetic and non-judgmental gambling counselling to individuals, their families and significant others.
• Promote greater public awareness about problem gambling through information to target groups and the community.
